Oftentimes, we found ourselves stuck between two of Ravana's most known charms. It's either the greedy Ravana that kidnapped someone's wife, or the lovestruck Ravana that fought for his love through several reincarnations. We often forgot that Ravana is a devout follower of Shiva. In Indonesian wayang, he is also called Dasamuka for his extensive knowledge of Vedas and his mastery of scriptures.

Ravana is an intelligent scholar, a character granted with most blessings from the Gods. This made him a character with most divine power amongst all other characters in Ramayana and Mahabarata epic.
